Thanksgiving in Africa

By John Warburton, G4IRN

Finding turkeys in Africa isn’t the easiest of tasks! CQWW usually falls on Thanksgiving weekend and so the Americans on the team always chat up the hotel’s cook to see if turkey can be obtained. On one rare occasion it *was* found (Mali, 2005), though describing to the cook *how* it needed to be cooked and presented (with all the trimmings) was a big challenge! In the event, the meal wasn’t quite right but it was well appreciated!
